90 seconds
That’s how long, or rather how short, a strong emotion lasts on average.
Then it’s up to you whether you decide to dwell on it.
3-5 seconds
Precisely that much silence after the other person finishes speaking makes a big difference in our reaction and further development, even in a conflict.
Practice restraint.
5 minutes
That’s all the time you need on this page to realize that good communication is the path to success and that it can be changed so that the kitchenette isn’t the main communication channel.
End Kitchen Gossip: How to Communicate Effectively in a Company
Ensuring that information flows correctly and on time to all corners of the company is a challenge for every company.
Surely you’ve experienced that pleasant meeting with colleagues in the kitchenette, right? At first glance, it may seem like just a quick coffee and a chat about everyday things, but in reality, it can be much more.
Kitchen gatherings can be much more than just a space for free conversation. It is a space where we can take a break from work and relax. And that is precisely the moment when strong relationships are built between colleagues and trust is created.
Thanks to this free space, it can lead to greater openness and sincerity, which helps create strong and solid bonds between team members. Colleagues here share not only work experiences, but also personal stories and experiences, which contributes to strengthening cooperation in the team.
These moments are part of the working day, which not only supports the creation of strong relationships and corporate culture, but also stimulates creativity and innovation in the work environment.
However, the kitchenette should not become a communication channel.
What can we do about it from an HR perspective? That was the topic of our workshop.
And what shouldn't you miss?
We want you to leave with a clear and concrete flow on how to deal with information in your organization or team, regardless of size.
Although we won’t cover everything, we will build a strong foundation that we can continue to develop.

Why is feedback difficult?
It all starts with a question
You can show your interest by asking questions. A pocket version of the more sophisticated “and why?” It may be useful for networking events, work meetings or even everyday meetings. Download it right here.
